"It is in serving others, that we serve ourselves." This statement rings true for Thrive Momma. We're a community that believes in lifting each other up, and boy, do I need a lift right now. You see, I've always believed that the value of my work would shape my self-identity. But somewhere along the line, I became a workaholic. Now, I find myself in the ironic position of creating a community to support better-balanced women, while still struggling to find that balance myself.
The Workaholic's Dilemma:
I had grand plans of giving up my day job and diving into "knowledge commerce," thinking I could supplement my income with just a few hours of work each week. But here's the kicker: I've transferred my workaholic tendencies from my job to this project. And the crazy part? I'm loving it. But, I'm working even more hours than before.
There's a journey between admitting you have a problem and living the solution. Right now, I'm somewhere in the middle, so energized and motivated that I can't seem to put the computer down. But I know I need to find a balance.
So, I'm surrendering to my friends in the Thrive Momma community. I need your help. I need you to share what you've learned about rest, reflection, and unplugging. Because right now, I'm sharing my failures. I need your help to transform from a "lone wolf" to the family-minded, fun-seeking person I know is inside me.
Thank you in advance for your support. Together, we can lift each other up and create a community of better-supported women.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Please share them in the comments below. Let's lift each other up!
