This Space Is for You: Why Thrive Momma Is for Every Woman, at Every Stage

From the dreaming-about-babies stage to the what-do-grandkids-want-for-Christmas stage — and everything messy in between

More Than Sippy Cup Reviews

Let me be upfront about something: this is not a website that compares different brands of sippy cups and strollers for their practicality, durability, and price. Although honestly, if our community wants that, we could do it. I have opinions about sippy cups. (The ones that claim to be spill-proof are liars. Every single one of them.)

But that is not why Thrive Momma exists.

Thrive Momma exists because somewhere between the moment you first dream about becoming a mother and the moment you are googling "what are kids into these days" while shopping for your grandchild's birthday present, there is an enormous stretch of life that nobody adequately prepares you for. And most of the resources out there are designed for one specific slice of that journey — the newborn phase, the toddler phase, the school-age phase — as though motherhood is a series of neatly separated chapters rather than the sprawling, overlapping, beautiful mess that it actually is.

This site is for moms at all stages and ages. Full stop.

Every Stage Has Its Joys and Its Chaos

For those dreaming about becoming a mom — whether you are planning, hoping, going through fertility treatments, considering adoption, or simply holding the possibility in your heart — this space is for you. Your journey to motherhood is valid, no matter how it begins.

For the sleep-deprived mothers of babies who are rethinking the romance of the Hallmark cards they received at the baby shower — the ones that said "Cherish every moment!" while you are currently covered in spit-up and have not showered since a day you cannot remember — this space is for you. You are doing brilliantly, even when it does not feel like it.

For those who get up too early in the morning to take kids to hockey practice and those who are trying to figure out how to help their kids pay for university — often in the same week, because time is a thief — this space is for you.

For those who are supporting science fair projects, packing lunches that come home uneaten, navigating the first teen romances, and wondering whether it is normal for a sixteen-year-old to communicate exclusively in grunts — this space is for you.

For those who are seeking jobs and homes, trying to hold relationships together or peacefully apart, transitioning careers, starting over, or figuring out who they are now that the kids need them less — this space is for you.

For the mother who is trying to navigate the unimaginable pain of losing a child — I cannot pretend to understand the depth of that grief, but I can tell you that you are held here, gently and without condition.

For the grandmother who is wondering what is trending in children's toys, who is raising her grandchildren, who is trying to bridge the gap between the way she parented and the way her children parent — this space is for you.

For the stepmother navigating loyalty conflicts, the foster mother pouring love into children who may not stay, the adoptive mother answering hard questions, the mother-figure who never carried a pregnancy but carries a child in her heart — this space is for you.

Why Community Matters More Than Expert Advice

There are plenty of experts out there. There are books, podcasts, TED talks, Instagram accounts run by people with impressive credentials and very clean kitchens. And many of them are wonderful. We will point you to the best of them regularly.

But here is what no expert can give you: the feeling of being truly understood by someone who has lived what you are living. The relief of hearing another mother say, "Me too." The power of a community that does not judge, does not compete, and does not pretend that any of us have it all figured out.

Research backs this up. A 2019 study in the Journal of Child and Family Studies found that maternal social support — feeling connected to other mothers — is one of the strongest predictors of maternal well-being. Stronger than income. Stronger than education level. Stronger than relationship status. The single most protective factor against the isolation and overwhelm that so many mothers experience is the knowledge that they are not alone.

That is what we are building here. Not a hierarchy of experts dispensing wisdom from on high, but a circle of women sharing honestly, supporting generously, and laughing together — because if you cannot laugh at the absurdity of parenting, you will definitely cry, and we prefer to do both.

What We Believe

We believe that every family structure is valid. Single parents, two-parent families, blended families, multigenerational families, LGBTQ+ families, families made through adoption, families connected by choice rather than blood — all of them. The love inside a family matters infinitely more than its configuration.

We believe that motherhood is not a competition. The mother who breastfeeds and the mother who bottle-feeds, the mother who works outside the home and the mother who works inside it, the mother who bakes from scratch and the mother who considers opening a can of soup a culinary achievement — all of them are doing their best, and all of them deserve respect.

We believe in evidence-based information delivered with warmth and humour. We will share research, point you to reputable resources, and always be honest about the line between coaching, education, and therapy. We are coaches and educators, not clinicians, and that distinction matters.

We believe in the power of small steps. We are not here to overhaul your life. We are here to help you find one tiny thing today that makes tomorrow a little easier. Because transformation does not usually happen in a single dramatic moment. It happens in a thousand small choices, made with intention and grace.

We believe that you deserve to thrive — not just survive. Not just get through the day, but actually enjoy parts of it. Not just keep the kids alive, but find joy in raising them. Not just endure motherhood, but be nourished by it.

What Do You Want to See Here?

This is a living, breathing community, and it belongs to you as much as it belongs to us. We want to talk about the things that matter to you — the questions keeping you up at night, the challenges that make you want to scream into a pillow, the victories that deserve to be celebrated, and the topics that nobody else seems willing to address honestly.

We have covered a lot of ground already: relationships, mental health, education, finances, self-care, grief, identity, and more. But we know there is so much more to explore.

So here is our invitation: share with us. What topics and themes would you like to see reflected in this blog? What conversations are missing? What do you need right now — practical advice, emotional support, a good laugh, a resource you have been searching for?

Help us build a positive little world of escape in a world that has all the potential, but that seems to have lost itself in negativity. Because we still believe — stubbornly, fiercely, with our whole hearts — that women supporting women can change everything.
